Healing for the Broken

If you are broken, then your heart is being prepared to receive the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Many of our troops will return home to "broken" families, to "broken" marriages, to "broken" relationships, and perhaps just plain "broken." Let me encourage you with some words from King David once he was broken by the words of the prophet Nathan after being confronted about his adultery and sin with Bathsheba. What did David do first? He cried out for God's mercy and compassion in light of his sins. In Psalm 51, David prayed many things as he sought restoration, things such as God desiring integrity in the inner self and asking God to wash him white as snow from his sins. But I love what he prayed in verse 17 about the kind of sacrifice God finds as pleasing. "The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. God, You will not despise a broken and humbled heart." God prefers a broken spirit rather than some physical form of sacrifice. God wants to see his creation fall before Him broken, humbled, and repentant. This is the only acceptable attitude before a Holy God. He will provide you spiritual healing. If you are feeling broken, call out to Him with your sacrifice of a broken spirit and He will do what no one else can....free your soul from bondage and spiritual pain. Separation from your Creator will always leave you feeling lost, empty, and hopeless. Come to Him and experience healing!
